About Kathy

Kathy Kelley Ohlrich earned a B.S. in Communicative Disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an M.Ed. from Cleveland State University.

For years Kathy has been involved in governance and government, serving as president of the Ohio Speech Language Hearing Association, member and chair of the Ohio Board of Speech Language Pathology and Audiology, and as an elected councilperson in her Ohio municipality. Additionally, Kathy chaired the committee that wrote the Comprehensive Plan for her community in Ohio.

Kathy served as a member and chair of the City of Sarasota’s Citizens with Disabilities Advisory Board, as a member of the City’s Planning Board after serving as vice chair and chair, and brings a depth of knowledge related to planning, zoning, and development standards.

Kathy has served on the Architectural Review Committee, as secretary and president of her neighborhood association. She represented Glen Oaks Ridge at the Coalition of City Neighborhood Associations (CCNA), served on the CCNA Executive Committee as D3 representative, 1st Vice Chair, and two terms as chair in 2015 and 2016. She has knowledge of and experience with meeting governance as well as parliamentary procedure.

In 2022, Conserve Bobby Jones Now, of which Kathy is a founding member, received the Conservation of the Year Award from The Conservation Foundation of the Gulf Coast.

Kathy is proud to have recently completed a 6-day 80 mile hike on the el Camino de Santiago after training for many months by hiking along the Legacy Trail.
